Presenting Tomlit

Time for a bit of shameless whooping and self promotion here... <----- if you check out issue 2, out now, you'll find not only a selection of photographs taken by yours truly but a short story which won the first ever Tomlit competition.

I wasn't planning to enter the competition, I had already had confirmation that my photographs were to be included and that was good enough for me but on the spur of the moment, I sat at my computer and tapped a short story out. It took me about 15 minutes and the editing consisted of changing two lines. Before I could mull it over and change the words or change my mind, I sent it off and thought nothing else of it. I certainly wasn't expecting to win, I was proud of the story but my writing is often a bit dark and rarely has a happy ending so I don't expect it to be enjoyed by everyone, luckily, the bods at Tomlit enjoyed it and I won. I genuinely haven't stopped smiling since getting the email today. I've had five or six other story ideas buzzing around my head since late summer last year and I've finally got the motivation to write them down and get them out there.

I'm a happy girl! Big thanks to all at Tomlit for the inclusion of my work.

Fingers crossed that more of my work will be published throughout 2010.
